Before sparkly R.Patz – there was Ville Valo – who we can call V.Valo, just for consistency’s sake.
Feast your eyes on this Finnish beauty:

(you’re welcome)
Been a busy year. Got a dog. Picked up and moved across the country to a city with no seasons save wet and dry. Started a kick ass job at TuneUp. Got an apartment. Made friends.
Life is beautiful.
I am exhausted.

I’m always a little wary when a film studio decides to remake one of my favorite books. While some have been truly excellent (think Lord of the Rings, Fight Club or Lolita), so many have been so un-godly terrible (The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen or worse, Lost in Translation). I was a little wary when I heard that Maverick Films was remaking Twilight, one of my favorite contemporary young adult novels.
Even though I’ve forgiven whomever is responsible for this terrible Entertainment Weekly Cover, I’m still not sure how I feel about the teaser trailers that the studio’s released so far.
MTV has all of the trailers up on their page for the film. You can check them out by clicking here.

A couple of weeks ago, I blogged about My Brightest Diamond, you can stream their newest album, A Thousand Shark’s Teeth from AOL. Seriously, give it a listen, you won’t be disappointed – especially if you’re into St. Vincent, Niko Case or any of those hip songbirds.
Also available:
Radiohead – “Best of”
The Cool Kids – “Bake Sale”

I had the most delicious little surprise for lunch today from the Biryani Cart on 46th and 6th in midtown.
Imagine this: it tastes like Indian Food, but is rolled up like a taco in a fluffy, light, portable and wrapped buttery “tortilla” (kind of like naan, but not quite).
I got one spicy chicken and one lamb, all for a hot $5.00

Courtesy of Fashionista.com:
“This just in from a source:
Steven Meisel has just shot an entire issue of Vogue Italia with all black models, hoping that other issues of Vogue start to diversify their own portfolios.
Apparently, all of the photo shoots have already happened, as model bookers at various agencies have been contacted and sourced for new, beautiful, not-white girls — and now they’re twittering about how cool the issue will be.”
Its almost a shame that Italian Vogue is going to be the first to do this. Especially considering that Americans pride themselves in their diversity. Logically, however, it makes sense. Italians do love brown.
Because it seems appropriate – a tribute to some of my favorite black models:
Selita Ebanks of Victoria’s Secret Fame

Ajuma Nasenyana

Noemie Lenoir (aka Genevive from Rush Hour 3)

Timeless and Flawless Iman

The divine Alek Wek

Liya Kebede

There is nothing better than sitting on the lawn and enjoying some free tunes on a warm summer Saturday. And, its even better when the show’s free.
Central Park Summerstage’s schedule’s up and online (though this isn’t news, I’m just getting the time to check it out).
I will probably be taking advantage of Vampire Weekend and Yael Naim (you know, the girl that sing’s the Macbook Air song).
